The network details will be shown on the Start screen and when you click the WiFi icon if the BridgeTab has permission to use your location.
NETWORK INFORMATION In most cases it is clear from the WiFi icon what the problem is, but sometimes it might be necessary to study the details to find out what is wrong.
Hardware ID At the first start of the BridgeTab an Hardware ID between 10000 and 65000 will be randomized. It should not be possible for low numbers to occur but it it happens you must ask the TD to fix it on the scoring computer in the following way: 1. Locate the file C:\BOS\Bridgescorer\nextip 2. Delete the nextip file
On the BridgeTab: i. Go to Settings and choose Dummy mode. ii. Exit Dummy mode. (This will reset the Hardware id on that Bridgetab) 3. Click the Start button and check that you get an ID in the permitted range.
Network name The scoring computer and the tablet must be connected to the same network. If the tablet and/or changes to an undesired network by itself, you should try to enable flight mode and, if that does not help, “Forget” the competing network.
BT Control IP The BridgeTab must be connected to the control software’s IP. The BT will find the IP automatically unless the IP has been hard-coded.
Computer name The BridgeTab must be connected to the PC running the control software. If you do not know the name of the scoring computer, you should check the Status info, see below.
Status It will in most cases be clear from the STATUS in the network information why there is no communication. The tablet has switched to another network than the one used at the start in the example shown below. In this case the tablet should revert to network TP-Link_7144. It might be necessary to “Forget” the competing network (Jannersten-Google in the example). if it happens repeatedly, c.f. the headline Network name above.
The tablet is most probably out of range in this case. There is no doubt if the WiFi icon shows that the signal is weak. You need not act on this until the BT tells you that communication is required at which point you should bring the BT closer to the WiFi outlet to connect.
WARNINGS The warnings that BT presents should be self-explanatory. In the example shown below you will see the Game stopped warning if you miss that the WiFi icon has changed to grey. An OK leads to the Please wait! screen where you will have to wait until the WiFi icon reverts to green.

The BT will tell when the results have to be sent to the control software. When the WiFi icon is yellow some functions (e.g. comparison of your result with the other tables) will not be available. You can safely ignore the blackish message that can appear until you come to a screen telling that communication is required.
